Tom's first priority is the selection of subcontractors and suppliers. "I have to have a great deal of trust in the people who work with me as a part of my team," Tom explains. "When I find good subcontractors, I work hard to keep them. I have the same grader and plumber I had when I started in the business in 1990. My framer, foundation man, siding and cornice man and trimmer are almost like family.

Tom Godfrey has 34 years of experience in the construction industry. His family was involved for many years in the commercial aspects of the industry, working in the construction of water and sewage treatment plants and grading for commercial projects. Along with his undergraduate studies in estimating, drafting, engineering and graphic technology drawing, Tom attributes his success to his HBA education and experience.

Tom is not just a "hands on builder"; he is personally involved in all aspects of every home from design to finish, preferring to maintain total control over every project. In order to do this, Tom is on site every day. He believes in minimizing problems by doing it right the first time. "Common sense, experience and surrounding yourself with a team of excellent people are all important in getting the job done correctly."
